The Cobb Family {St. Louis, Franklin Co Family Photographer}

After a couple of cancellations due to bad weather, we finally got this shoot in. The wind gave us fits at times, but the wind blown look is in, right? Three adorable little girls and really sweet parents make for a super enjoyable shoot.

I think Dad needs this one on his desk at work so he can show off his girls.

Birthday Girls

Maggie and Evie celebrated their birthdays April 1st. Since they are headed to Disney World soon for Maggie’s Make-a-Wish, Minnie Mouse seemed like the perfect theme. Besides, Evie Kait loves Minnie Mouse. I had fun sewing for the four girls, and Faith and Mandy knocked themselves out with the cake and cupcakes. Having the Smiths here to help celebrate just made it extra special. All the cousins and aunts and uncles came, too. A perfect party! Happy fifth and second birthdays, Maggie Jane and Evie Kait!

Miss Gigi looks a bit like a present herself!

Cousin Wannabes

Five years ago when Maggie Jane was born and we entered the heart world, we never imagined all of the amazing people we would meet.  After Maggie Jane’s first two surgeries and we started to relax a bit, we began to discover one heart hero after another. When I say “hero”, I  truly mean hero. Some we met through support group; some at heart camp; some  through friends; and many Faith met on line.  One of those young heroes was Evangeline Shalom Smith who is a year younger than Maggie.  You can read her miraculous story at SeventhSmith.blogspot.com.  Her mother, Mandy, and Faith became good friends as they shared their highs and lows via the internet.  In fact, the third Mahoney was named after Evangeline.  Two years ago, Faith and I traveled to South Carolina with Maggie and Evie to meet the Smith’s. There was an instant bond between the girls and between the moms. In April, Mandy and three and her six children flew to Missouri for a visit. What a blessing to have Mandy, Izzy, Evie and Gigi here for a few days. Maggie and Evie S. compared scars, dressed up in princess dresses, and decided they should be cousins. The only thing that would have made the visit better would have been having Tristan, Abi, and Britain here, too.

We managed to get in a photo session with the girls. Mandy is a photographer, too, so it was non-stop clicking trying to capture 5 girls.

Evie and Maggie ran into each others arms as soon as they made eye contact at the airport. After that they were not apart very much.

Miss Izzy – what a sweetheart!

There was time for some pony rides, a bonfire, and a picnic. It was during the bonfire that Maggie Jane said, “We should all be cousins!”  Yes, Maggie, that is a wonderful idea.

Mandy called home to check on her other 3 kiddos, and Maggie just had to talk to Abi.

A trip to the zoo was most certainly in order. I have to say that Trent handled the 5 girls quite well.

Mandy had these dresses made for Maggie and Evie complete with zippers in the hearts.  (for those

who do not know, heart kiddos call their scar their zipper.)

Wedding Bells in October {St. Louis, Franklin Co engagement photographer}

These two were so much fun and so easy to photograph. Love was written all over their faces and literally beamed from their eyes. Prior to the shoot, I had only met Ken a few times at church, but I have known Jenny since early elementary days. In fact she was my student in 5th and 6th grade. Now she is graduating from nursing school and getting married. Ken has won me over just because he makes her so happy. Jenny deserves a good man, and I think she has found one. Congratulations, you two!

Happy Birthday, Sawyer {Franklin Co child photographer}

This little cutie is so laid back. He just went with the flow no matter what we did. Now I do have to say that he took the cake smashing to a new level, and I was so glad we opted to do it outside. That had not been the original plan, but the weather was gorgeous, and he was having so much fun on the rocks that we decided to bring the cake and banner outside. Let’s just say that the ants fared very well that day. Mom came wanting the birthday suit cowboy image. Sawyer rocked that one!
